reserve

Nature:

Not created by human hands. The whole that exists of its own accord.

Reserve:

Resource set aside to be used when necessary; stored assets.

These two words now describe the same thing.

Nature is no longer something that exists or evolves of its own accord. It is something kept on standby. Something to be opened up, burned, demolished, relocated, and used when deemed appropriate. Its being alive is not what matters; what matters is when it will become useful.

They say it is protected, but in reality, it is being held. They act as if it is untouched, yet the moment it will be touched has already been decided. Nature here is not a whole. It is something partitioned, calculated, to be put into play when the time comes.

In a place called a reserve, life is not a value in itself. Existing is not enough; it must be useful. It must be usable.
